Meet Craig Meredith
Craig is a native of New Zealand, yes a Kiwi, grew up through the 60’s and 70’s a very good time for music. His father ran a dance hall and during this time he was introduced to the entertainment world. He did a four year electronic apprenticeship and then decided to follow his love for music.
Craig started playing guitar/bass guitar in bands in and around his home town Napier and finally settled in Auckland during the 80’s. He was introduced to the production side of the business in 84 when he was asked to be on the local crew for David Bowie’s “Serious Moonlight Tour”. It was then he was bitten by the bug.
He was asked to run the shop and crew chief the shows of Stagelight NZ Ltd a lighting company that did most of the international tours that came through New Zealand. U2, Eurhythmics, The Pretenders, Talking Heads, Robert Plant, Deep Purple, Berlin, Wham, Joe Jackson and Simply Red are just some of the acts he did.
Simply Red asked him to do their Australian leg of the “Blokes and Sheilas Tour” which he did and then chose to stay and work in Melbourne, Australia after the tour ended.
In 89 Craig left for the UK and started work with Tasco a sound/lighting company with offices in the London and Los Angeles and finally ending up working and living in the States in 91.
After an 18 month World Tour with Elton John, Craig decided to leave the road and take up a non touring position.
The past 16-18 years, Craig has held positions as Warehouse/Shop Manager, Production Coordinator and Electronics Supervisor for such companies as A1 Lighting, LSD/PRG and the last 4 years with Epic Production Technologies.
Craig has a passion for this industry and gives 110% and is always willing to pass on the knowledge and experience he has obtained over the years to co-workers and customers alike.
